ABOUT Raw Turmeric Pickle RECIPE

Turmeric is an old Indian spice that gives curry it's yellow colour. It has been used in India for thousands of years as a spice and medicinal herb. It could be a perfect ointment to any kind of cuts or injuries. It maintains blood sugar problem too. Raw turmeric pickle recipe is a quick and easy pickle with just few ingredients. It can be served before meals to aid digestion and also during the meals.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Raw Turmeric 250 gm.
  2. Salt according to taste or one tablespoon
  3. Red chilly powder one spoon
  4. Mustard oil half cup
  5. Mustard seeds powder two tablespoons
  6. Fenugreek seeds powder two tablespoons
  7. Lemon juice half cup
  8. Asafoetida half teaspoon


  1. Peel wash and slice raw turmeric. Pat it on kitchen towel to remove the water completely.
  2. Heat mustard oil in a pan on smoking point.
  3. Reduce the flame and let it cool down.
  4. Add Asafoetida in it and saute for a while.
  5. Add salt and pepper , mustard seeds powder and fenugreek seeds powder in it. Mix well.
  6. Add raw turmeric slices in it. Stir well and switch off the flame.
  7. Add lemon juice in it. Mix well.
  8. It's ready. Store in a jar.
