Its a winter special soup, which is cooked with combination of fresh fenugreek leaves, split moong dal and urad dal. Do try this unique and power-packed soup.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Fresh fenugreek leaves- 1cup
  2. Onions - 2 tbsp finely chopped
  3. Tomato - 1 tbsp finely chopped
  4. Garlic - 3 small cloves finely chopped
  5. Split Moong dal - 1/2 cup
  6. Urad dal -1/2 cup
  7. Salt and black pepper according to taste
  8. Butter - 1 tablespoon
  9. Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon


  1. First of all wash both dals(lentils) and cook in pressure cooker for 1 whistle with adding enough water. Now keep this cooked lentils aside .
  2. Now heat butter in deep pan and splutter cumin seeds.Now add onion,tomato and garlic cloves and saute till fat oozes out. Now Add fenugreek leaves at this stage and saute for 2 minutes more.
  3. Now add half quantity of cooked lentils in pan and blend to make puree. After blending add salt, pepper and add remaining cooked dal (lentils).
  4. Reboil soup once again and serve fenugreek lentils soup hot. If desired, garnish with bread croutons and serve immediately.
