Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Whole wheat 2 cup
  2. Roasted gram flour 1 cup
  3. Carrom seeds 1 tbs
  4. Red chili powder 1/2 tbs
  5. Pickle masala 2 tbs
  6. Whole Brinjal 4 nos
  7. Potato 4 nos
  8. Green chilies 4 nos
  9. Chopped Onion 1 medium
  10. Chopped tomato 1 medium
  11. Garlic 6 cloves
  12. Mustard oil 4 tbs
  13. Salt to taste


  1. Take whole wheat flour and add water to make a semi hard dough.Keep it aside.
  2. Next make litti masala by adding gram flour, salt , red chili powder , pickle masala and carrom seeds.
  3. Mix very well to make filling.
  4. Now take the dough and dovide it ,start making balls
  5. Now take one ball and start giving a hollow shape and make a cavity so that we can fill the stuffing.
  6. Next take 1 tbs of filling and fill it in the cavity.
  7. Next seal the corners well and make ball shaped litti. Avoid cracks also.
  8. Next make all the litties and place the litti over the pan which is preaheated.Cover the lid and cook for 10mins from both the sides.
  9. If you are using fire place then cook it for 5 minutes from both the sides.
  10. Now boil the potato and roast the brinjal in gas/fire place.
  11. Peel the potato and brinjal and mesh it very well.
  12. Next tranfer them in a bowl and add green chilies, salt chopped onion , tomato.
  13. Next preheat a pan with mustart oil , when it hot add garlic cloves and fry it unyil it gets brown.
  14. Now add this temper in chokha.
  15. Your delicious yet healthy litti chokha is ready to serve. Enjoy with pickle and sliced onion.
