Dates are a good source of various vitamins and minerals, energy, sugar, and fiber. It also contains calcium, iron, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium and zinc.

Ingredients Serving: 12

  1. 400 gms seedless khajur (dates)
  2. 4 tbsp ghee
  3. 2 tbsp poppy seeds (khus khus)
  4. 150 gms mixed nuts (almonds, cashews, pistachios)roughly chopped
  5. 1/4 tsp cardamom pd


  1. Dry roast the poppy seeds & keep aside.
  2. Grind the dates into a coarse mixture, keep aside
  3. Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a pan and roast the chopped nuts for 2 mins on medium flame. Transfer the nuts on a plate.
  4. Add the remaining ghee in a pan,heat it and add the dates mixture cook on medium flame for 3 to 4 mins
  5. When the dates mixture becomes soft add the nuts mix well
  6. Add poppy seeds and cardamom powder mix well.
  7. Cook till it forms like a lumpy dough.
  8. Transfer to a plate and let it cool. You can make ladoos of this. I have made rolls
  9. Take all  the mixture in one place,roll it into a big roll. Roll it gently.
  10. Wrap it in an aluminium foil and refrigerate for 2 hours. Cut into slices.
