ABOUT Beans & Potato Curry RECIPE

A simple stir fry of beans and potatoes that is a perfect accompaniment to rice or chapatis. The taste is awesome and is an everyday dish that can be done in a jiffy. It is a dry recipe. You can stuff this yummy dish in parathas to make it into a roll and enjoy as a meal on the go. So go ahead and dish out this amazing winter special.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 400 gms, beans, chopped finely
  2. 1 potato, chopped into small pieces
  3. 1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
  4. salt to taste
  5. 2 tbsp oil
  6. 1/2 tsp. cumin seeds
  7. pinch of asafoetida
  8. 1-2 green chilies, chopped
  9. 1 onion, chopped
  10. 1 tsp. ginger, chopped
  11. 1 tsp. garlic, chopped
  12. 1 tsp. coriander powder
  13. 1 tsp. cumin powder
  14. 1 tsp. red chili powder
  15. 1 tsp. garam masala powder
  16. 1 tbsp. coriander leaves, chopped


  1. Heat oil and temper with cumin seeds and asafoetida. Then add the onion, garlic, ginger and green chilies. Saute till light brown.
  2. Add the chopped beans, potato, salt, turmeric powder, coriander powder and cumin powder. Cover and cook on a low flame.
  3. When done, add the garam masala powder and coriander leaves. Give it a toss and switch off the flame.
  4. Serve as a side dish with rice or chapatis.
