Its a delicious and tasty kebab. We can replace yam with veggies.

Yam Shammi Kebab

Ingredients to make Yam Shammi Kebab

  • Yam-1 cup, chopped
  • Boiled channadal-1 cup
  • salt- To taste
  • oil-1/2 cup
  • fennel seeds-1 tsp
  • onion -1,finely chopped
  • ginger-1 tsp, finely chopped
  • cardamom powder-1/4 tsp
  • cinnamon powder-1/4 tsp
  • cumin powder -1/2 tsp
  • red chilli powder-1 tsp
  • coriander powder-1 tsp
  • lemon juice -1 tbsp
  • Roasted gram flour-1/3 cup
  • coriander leaves-2 tbsp

How to make Yam Shammi Kebab

  1. Cook the Yam in enough water and drained the water completely. Then Mash it lightly.
  2. In a kadai add 1tsp oil,temper with fennel seeds. Add the chopped onion. Saute it Well.
  3. Then add Boiled channadal, mashed Yam. Mix it Well.mixture should be little moisture. Switch off the flame.
  4. Once it cooled down completely grind To a fine paste.
  5. Place them in a bowl, then add the all ingredients except oil.mix well.
  6. Grease your Hand with oil,take a lemon sized ball just flat them or roll into a cyclindrical shape.I just make them flat shape.
  7. Heat oil in a kadai, place the kebab.
  8. Cook them on both sides until it turns golden brown.
  9. Serve them hot with green chutney or sweet chutney.
