ABOUT Russian Snowballs RECIPE

Russian snowballs are commonly prepared in Russia during Christmas season . These butter rich , melt in mouth cookies are so easy to make . But they are absolutely delicious . These snowballs are also called as Russian Tea cakes which are perfect for evenings / any party. #earnwithbetterbutter

Ingredients Serving: 10

All purpose flour 2 cups
Unsalted softened butter 1 cup
Confectioners sugar 6 tablespoons
Almonds chopped 2 tablespoons
Vanilla extract 1/2 teaspoon
Flour for dusting
Powdered sugar as preferred for coating

Instructions

Take 2 cups all purpose flour in a wide bowl .
Add 1 cup softened unsalted butter to the flour.
Add 2 tablespoons chopped almonds. Add walnuts / pecans if preferred . Adding nuts is optional .
Add 6 tablespoons confectioners sugar.
Add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract.
Combine flour , sugar and butter completely using your finger tips. Do it until cookie dough is
crumble as well as ready to hold shapes . Scoop dough and hold even sized balls .
Press and flatten the balls gently . Place the cookies on the flour dusted baking tray .
Arrange cookies with minimum space as shown . Bake in a preheated oven at 180C for 12 minutes .
Cookies rise to 1 inch size while getting baked .
After 12 minutes , take the cookies out from the oven . Cool them completely . The bottom is golden
indicates baked. Roll the cooled cookies completely in powdered sugar. Coat as much as preferred.
Russian Christmas Snowballs are ready . They are also called as Russian Tea cakes.
