ABOUT Paneer Butter Masala without Cream RECIPE

Paneer Butter Masala is a popular mouth watering North Indian dish that goes well with Laccha Prantha or Naan. As the name defines, it has Paneer cooked in rich gravy full of spices and butter. Paneer is certainly the most important delicacy in a North Indian family.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. onions (Chopped) 3
  2. tomatoes (Chopped) 4
  3. cumin Seeds ½ tsp
  4. cashew nuts 10-12 piece
  5. Green cardamom 1
  6. red chilli Powder 1 tsp
  7. turmeric Powder ¼ tsp
  8. coriander Powder ½ tsp
  9. Dried fenugreek Leaves 2 tsp
  10. salt to taste
  11. Garam masala 1 tsp
  12. cottage cheese cubes(Paneer) 500gm
  13. oil 2tbs
  14. butter Amul Lite) 100 gm


  1. Take a wok and heat oil in that. Add green cardamom, cumin seeds and chopped onions to it. Saute it for 5 min.
  2. Add chopped tomatoes along with cashew nuts and cook it for 5 min.
  3. Now add dry spices like red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and let it cook for another 5 min. Switch off the flame and let it cool down.
  4. Transfer this mixture to a jar and grind it to a fine and smooth paste.
  5. In a pan take butter and add the puree to it. Add dry fenugreek leaves (Kasoori Methi) and garam masala. Cover the pan and let the puree cook for 5 min.
  6. Once done, add Cottage cheese cubes (Paneer) and salt and cook it for 2-3 min.
  7. Here is your healthy, delicious Paneer Butter Malsa Ready to serve. Garnish it with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
