ABOUT Shakarpara RECIPE

Cardamom flavoured sweet maida biscuits.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1 cup + 2 tbsp all purpose flour.
  2. 1/4 cup sugar.
  3. 1/4 cup water.
  4. 1 1/2 tbsp fine sooji.
  5. 2 tbsp ghee.
  6. 1/4 tesp salt.
  7. 1/4 tesp cardamom powder.
  8. Oil to fry.

Instructions

  1. In a bowl mix maida, sooji ,cardamom powder and salt.
  2. Add sugar to warm water and stir till it melts.
  3. Let cool and add it to the dry ingredients.
  4. Add ghee and knead to a soft dough.
  5. Keep covered for 20 minutes.
  6. Place the dough on a floured surface roll to a circle 3mm thick.
  7. Cut diamond shapes .
  8. In a pan place oil on medium low flame,fry them till golden brown.
  9. Remove place on tissue to remove the excess oil.
  10. Cool well before storing.
