Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup all purpose flour (maida)
  2. 1 cup powdered sugar
  3. 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  4. 2 eggs
  5. 1 big size carrot ( gratted)
  6. 1/2 cup milk
  7. 1 tsp salt
  8. 2 tbsp vegetable oil or butter
  9. For caramel sauce : 1 cup sugar
  10. 1/4 cup water
  11. 1/2 cup whipped cream
  12. 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  13. 1 tsp vanilla extract
  14. 1 tsp salt


  1. First pre heat your oven, greese the cake tin.
  2. Now sieve the dry ingredients together, which is all purpose flour, backing soda, backing powder.and salt.
  3. In a mixing bowl, break two eggs, add powdered sugar and beat until it becomes soft then add butter or oil and vanilla extract and beat again until it becomes creamy.
  4. Now add dry ingredients to the mixing bowl slowly and mix with spatula.
  5. Now separate half batter to another bowl and mix gratted carrot to one batter and add coco powder to another batter.
  6. Now with the help of spoon, pour the two batter one after one to the cake tin. Spread all the batter to the cake tin very well.
  7. Tap the cake tin 2-4 times, and set to the oven. For 30-35 minutes at 180 degree.
  8. After 35 minutes, check with toothpick. If required then bake for 5 minutes more.
  9. Now , make the caramel sauce
  10. In a sauce pan add 1 cup sugar and 1/4 cup water and boil it until it caramelized and changed the colour.
  11. Turn off the gas, then add whipped cream, vanilla extract, salt and butter.
  12. Mix gently and spread over the cake.
  13. Cake is ready, serve with tea or coffee.
