Makhana Kheer is a sweet recipe made on occasion of Janmashtami.

Ingredients Serving: 7

  1. Full cream milk 2 litres
  2. Makhana 100 gms
  3. 2-3 Cardamoms
  4. Chopped nuts( almonds, cashews, pistachio, raisins)
  5. sugar 1 cup
  6. Saffron few strands

Instructions

  1. Heat milk first.
  2. Soak saffron in half cup of warm milk.
  3. Roast makhanas in a pan. I blend them in a mixer with pulse button.
  4. When a milk comes to a boil add makhana, cardamom, saffron soaked milk and simmer the milk on low to medium flame with occasional stirring.
  5. Lastly add sugar and dryfruits of your choice.
  6. Serve makhana kheer hot ,warm or cold.
