ABOUT Sundal RECIPE

A perfect winter snack are these healthy and yummy South Indian style chickpea sundal. Enjoy them as an evening snack or as a tea-time snack with a hot cup of tea / coffee.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 1 cup white chickpeas, boiled
  2. 1 tbsp. oil
  3. 1 sprig curry leaves
  4. 1 whole red chili, broken
  5. 1 green chili, chopped
  6. 1/2 tsp. mustard seeds
  7. 1 tsp. urad dal (split black gram)
  8. 2 tbsp. fresh grated coconut
  9. salt to taste
  10. 1 tsp. coriander leaves to garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil and temper with red chilies and mustard seeds. After i stops spluttering, add the green chili, urad dal and curry leaves. Saute till the dal changes colour.
  2. Add the boiled chickpeas and salt and stir for a minute or two.
  3. Add the grated coconut & coriander leaves. Give it a toss and switch off the flame.
  4. Serve and enjoy as a snack.
