Litti made with maize flour with sattu stuffing

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup maize flour
  2. 1/2 cup wheat flour
  3. 1/2 cup clarified butter
  4. salt as per taste
  5. 1/4 spoon carom seeds
  6. 1 pinch baking soda
  7. 1/2 cup lukewarm water
  8. 1 cup Sattu or roasted gram flour
  9. 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  10. 2 spoon garlic grated
  11. 1 spoon ginger grated
  12. 2 green chilli finely chopped
  13. 3 spoon mustard oil
  14. 1/2 spoon red chilli powder
  15. 1/2 spoon garam masala
  16. 2 spoon lemon juice
  17. 2 spoon finely chopped coriander leaves
  18. 1/4 spoon kalonji

Instructions

  1. Mix maize flour,wheat flour,baking soda,salt,carom seeds,clarified butter in a bowl
  2. Knead a soft dough by adding lukewarm water
  3. Cover and keep aside for 5 minutes
  4. In a bowl Mix sattu,green chilli,red chilli powder,garam masala,mustard oil,salt,onion,ginger,garlic,coriander leaves,kalonji and lemon juice
  5. Add little water and mix well
  6. Devide the dough in equal portions and stuff the stuffing inside it
  7. Flatten between palms and press with thumb in middle
  8. Grease with clarified butter and put into baking tray
  9. Preheat the oven on 180°
  10. Bake prepared litti for 30 minutes on 180°
  11. Smear clarified butter on litti and serve with chokha and garlic chutney.
