ABOUT Chhit(Winter special Vegetable) RECIPE

Its very famous punjabi winter special main dish. Which Is served with rice, chapati or naan.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Ginger 100 gram
  2. Spring onion 100 gram
  3. Garlic 50 gram
  4. Cumin seeds 1/2 teaspoon
  5. Asafoetida 1 pinch
  6. Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
  7. Salt and chiily according to taste.
  8. Milk 1/2 cup
  9. Garam masala 1/2 teaspoon
  10. Ghee 2 tables

Instructions

  1. First wash and finely chop all vegetables. Keep aside green stems of spring onion.
  2. Now heat ghee in a pan and splutter cumin seeds and asafoetida.
  3. Now add finely chopped bulb part of spring onions and saute till it becomes pinkish.
  4. Now add ginger and garlic too.keep sauting till ghee oozes out.
  5. At this stage add all spices and saute for another 1 minute.
  6. Add milk in vegetable now add keep stirring.
  7. This way little gravy will appear in pan now. Add green stems of spring onions now. Keep stirring.
  8. Simmer it for another 2 minutes. Switch off the flame.
  9. Now our vegetable is ready.
  10. Serve milky chhit with rice, naan or chapati.
  11. This vegetable is very delicious and give warmness to body in winters.
  12. Amalgamation of ginger, spring onion and garlic is great immunity booster in winters. It helps to relax joint pains of the body.
