ABOUT Bird's Nest RECIPE

An evening snack prepare with potato and vermicelli and serve with quark cheese, green chutney and tomato sauce.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2 big size potatoes
  2. 1/2 cup Vermicelli
  3. 2 tbsp gram flour (besan)
  4. 1 tbsp peas
  5. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  6. 1/2 tsp carrom seeds
  7. oil for frying
  8. 1/2 tsp mango powder
  9. salt to taste
  10. Garam masala to taste
  11. For serving:
  12. Green chutney as per choice
  13. tomato Sauce as per choice
  14. Quark cheese

Instructions

  1. Boil the potatoes, peel and mash them. Mix cumin seeds, carom seeds,salt, garam masala and mango powder (amchoor).
  2. Boil the peas and keep aside.
  3. Make a smooth batter of gram flour with water.
  4. Crush the vermicelli with hands and keep aside.
  5. Divide mashed potatoes into 6-8 equal parts.
  6. Make balls and dip it in gram flour batter, coat in vermicelli and shape it like a nest by pressing it with fingers.
  7. Heat oil in kadai and fry these nests on medium flame till golden .
  8. Decorate it with green chutney, quark cheese, boiled peas and tomato sauce.
