Delicious middle Eastern sweet made from sesame seeds, brown sugar, and pistachios.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Sesame seeds 250 grams
  2. Brown sugar 1 cup
  3. Milk powder 1/2 cup
  4. water 2 tbsp
  5. ghee 2 tbsp
  6. Chopped rose petals 10 - 12
  7. Chopped pistachio 2 + 2 tbsp
  8. Vanilla extract little drops (option)
  9. For garnish :-
  10. pistachios as needed
  11. rose petals as needed


  1. Heat the pan and add sesame seeds and roast it till it turn little brown in colour or aromatic.
  2. Remove from the flame and keep on room temperature.
  3. Now shit it into mixture jar and blend it into paste.
  4. Add ghee and blend it again then shift into a bowl.
  5. Take a same pan add brown sugar with little water.
  6. Keep on slow flame till it start to bubbly.
  7. When it start switch off the flame and give a quick mix.
  8. Now add milk powder and mix it.
  9. Now add sesame paste/ tahini paste and mix again.
  10. Add pistachios, vanilla extract and rose petals then mix it.
  11. Mixture will turn little thick.
  12. Now keep ready cake tin with some pistachios powder.
  13. Shift the mixture of pan into a cake tin and set well.
  14. Now give a rest approx 2 hours to set the halwa.
  15. After 2 hours remove halwa from tin and cut into slices.
  16. Tahini halwa is ready sprinkle some pistachios and rose petals.
