It is a winter special recepie. it’s crunchy flavour tastes really good.

Ingredients to make layered gujiya pithe

  • for filling
  • 1 cup rava
  • 1 cup dedicated coconut
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup ghee
  • 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 3 tablespoon corn flour
  • 2 tablespoon ghee
  • moida 1 1/2 cup
  • ghee 4 tablespoon
  • choice of food colour
  • ghee for deep frying

How to make layered gujiya pithe

  1. for the filling, first fry rava in ghee till golden brown.
  2. Add desiccated coconut and fry for few minutes.
  3. Add powered sugar and cook for 5-6 minutes. add cardamom powder to it. filling is ready.
  4. in a bowl mix corn flour and ghee. keep aside.
  5. mix moida and ghee very well. knead a hard dough.
  6. divide the dough into three parts. add choice of food colour to it.
  7. roll chapatis with all the dough. take one chapati and spread corn flour mix on it.
  8. place another chapati over it . press the edges to seal it. spread corn flour mix over it.
  9. after placing the last chapati in a similar way. spread corn flour mix on top and make a tight roll.
  10. cut small pieces from it.
  11. roll them like puri.
  12. place some filling on the middle.
  13. seal and fold the edges. gujiyas are ready.
  14. Heat ghee. fry the gujiyas at midium flame till they are brown and crisp.
  15. remove them on a kitchen towel.

My Tip:

Knead a hard dough for crisp gujiya.
