ABOUT Paneer cilli RECIPE

This hot and spicy is one of my winter favourite dishes. Nowadays this Indo Chinese recipe is very common and popular also. It is really easy to cook at home.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. paneer 300 g
  2. For batter :Corn flour 1 cup
  3. All purpose flour 2 tablespoon
  4. Pinch Of Baking Soda
  5. 1/4 teaspoon cilli powder
  6. Soya sauce 2 teaspoon
  7. Garlic ginger powder 1/2 teaspoon ( optional)
  8. salt 1/4 teaspoon for batter
  9. onion 2 medium size diced
  10. capsicum green 2 medium size diced ( I used red bell paper also)
  11. Green cilli 6-8 chopped or slotted ( use as per heat tolerance)
  12. Finely chopped garlic 2 tablespoon
  13. Minced ginger 1 tablespoon
  14. Soya sauce 2 tablespoon
  15. Chilli vinegar 2 tablespoon
  16. tomato ketchup 1 tablespoon (optional)
  17. salt as per taste
  18. sugar if required for adjusting the taste
  19. Cooking oil 4- 6 tablespoon (vegetable oil)


  1. In a mixing bowl take all ingredients for batter from corn flour to salt for batter. Mix well
  2. Add water as required ( 1 cup and little more) and make a medium thick batter.
  3. Cut paneer in cubes and deep in the batter
  4. Heat oil and fry batter coated paneer cubes and keep aside
  5. In remaining oil if needed add little more oil , heat it and add onions fry until softened.
  6. Add ginger, garlic stir until fragrant
  7. Add capsicums fry until tender add chillies mix and fry
  8. Add tomato ketchup, salt and sugar, mix well add soya sauce and vinegar, add 1/2 cup water cook for few minutes.
  9. Add paneer mix well and stir it well add little water mix well and let it cook for 10 minutes.
  10. Cover it. Switch off the burner. Let it stand for 5 minutes
  11. Serve hot with fried rice or serve as starter.
