ABOUT Smoked Lemon Pahadi Chicken RECIPE

The rustic cuisine of Pahadi people in North-India has always the hint of fresh coriander ,green chili and very minimal spices. I have created such a pahadi dish where i have enhanced the flavor adding ROASTED LEMON infused BUTTER. Try this , it's truly delicious

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. chicken 400 gm
  2. 2 cup Fresh coriander leaves
  3. 4 Green Chili
  4. garlic clove 10
  5. turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  6. 2 tbsp butter
  7. 1/4 cup hung curd
  8. 1 tsp lemon juice
  9. 1 whole lemon
  10. salt to taste


  1. Make a paste of coriander leaves ,garlic,green chili,turmeric powder and salt. Mix with the chicken pieces. Add lemon juice,curd and marinate for a minimum of 2 hour.
  2. Heat a pan ,add marinated chicken with juice into the pan.Cook at medium flame for 12 to 15 minute till chicken pieces are cooked well. Switch off the flame.
  3. Now take a tiny bowl ,add butter. Make a place in the chicken pan and place this bowl in center.
  4. Roast one whole lemon directly on gas stove top.Place this inside that butter bowl.Immediately close the chicken pan with a lid. After 2 minute take the lemon out of the butter .Add the smoked butter to the green chicken.
  5. Serve as a starter or a side-dish to your meal.
