Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For Sambhar
  2. Pigeon pea legume 1 cup
  3. Mixed vegetables of your choice like pumpkin carrot radish etc. 1 cup
  4. Tamarind pulp 1 tablespoon
  5. Jaggeey 1 teaspoon
  6. Salt to taste
  7. Red pepper powder 1 teaspoon
  8. Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon
  9. Sambhar masala 2 teaspoons
  10. Oil for tadka 1 teaspoon
  11. Curry leaves 1 teaspoon
  12. Mustard seeds 1 teaspoon
  13. Whole red chillies 3..4
  14. For idlis ..
  15. Semolina 350 gram
  16. Curd 1 cup
  17. Oil 1 tablespoon for batter and to grease the idlu mould
  18. Salt to taste
  19. Baking powder 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak legume (Arhar daal)
  2. Soak semolina in curd and water to make a smooth thick batter
  3. Now In a pressure cooker put legume along with all chopped vegetables
  4. Add salt and turmeric powder
  5. Add 2 glasses of water
  6. Boil for 3..4 whistles and then on slow flame for 5 minutes
  7. When pressure gets released open the lid
  8. Mix sambhar powder and tamarind pulp in it
  9. Cook for 5 minutes on slow flame
  10. Make tadka heating oil in a pan add mustard seeds ,curry leaves and whole red chillies
  11. Add this tadka to sambhar
  12. When sambhar is cooking meanwhile add salt and baking powder in semolina batter
  13. Grease the idli mould
  14. Pour the batter and steam for 15 minutes
  15. Serve idlis with hot sambhar
