Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Split urad dal 1/3 cup
  2. Sugar 2 cups
  3. Water 1 1/4 cups
  4. Refined flour 1 cup
  5. Baking soda a pinch
  6. Baking powder 1 /2 tsp
  7. Orange colour a pinch
  8. Ghee for deep frying

Instructions

  1. Soak urad dal for an hour.
  2. Grind dal into a fine paste if needed, add a little water.
  3. In a bowl mix urad dal, refined flour, baking powder, baking soda, orange colour with water.
  4. The batter should not be too thick or thin it will take approximately 1/2 a cup.
  5. Keep batter aside for five minutes
  6. In a flat bottom pan heat ghee,
  7. Make one string sugar syrup in another pan.
  8. In a piping bag add the batter, cut the bag a little then start making jalebis, heat both sides and then dip in syrup for 20 seconds, take out and place in the serving dish.
