Tiranga Suji Dhokla

Ingredients to make Tiranga Suji Dhokla

  • Suji 2 cups
  • curd 3/4 cup
  • salt 1 pinch
  • Eno 1 pouch small
  • oil 1 tsp
  • water 3 Cups
  • Green chutney 1 tsp
  • red chilli paste 1/4 tsp
  • tomato sauce 1 tsp
  • Green and red food colour 4 or 5 drops each
  • oil for greasing 1/2 tsp
  • Green chilli slited for tadka
  • Rai 1 tsp for tadka
  • curry leaves 6 for tadka
  • oil for tadka 2 tsp

How to make Tiranga Suji Dhokla

  1. Mix suji, water and curd. Mix well.
  2. Add salt and keep aside for 10 minutes.
  3. Add oil, eno and mix again.
  4. Divide in three equal portion in three bowls.
  5. Add green chutney and green colour in one bowl and mix.
  6. Add red chilli paste, tomato sauce and red colour in another bowl.
  7. Heat some water in the idli cooker.
  8. Grease the vessel with oil. Keep this stand in the cooker. Pour the green batter first steam for 5 to 10 minutes, then add the white batter and steam again for 5 minutes. Finally pour in the red batter and steam for 5 to 10 minutes.
  9. Steam for another few minutes to make sure the Dhokla is cooked/steamed well.
  10. Make a tadka with rai, green chilli and curry leaves.
  11. After cooling the dhokla completely. Pour the tadka on dhokla.
