Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. DOUGH
  2. flour 2.5 cups
  3. sugar 4 tbsp
  4. butter cold 14 tbsp
  5. egg 1 large
  7. lemon juice 2 tbsp
  8. Apple's 1 kg prefer granny smith
  9. sugar 2/3rd cup and little more to sprinkle
  10. butter 1/4 cup
  11. cinnamon pwdr 1 tsp
  12. egg 1


  1. Mix togther the flour,sugar. Gradually add 1 tbsp of butter at a time and keep rubbing inr he flour
  2. In this process the butter starts to melt to refrigerate forn10 to 15 mins
  3. Add the egg
  4. If u feelnthe dough is too dry you may add some cold water
  5. Chill the dough till you prepare the filling
  6. Slice the apples,add the lemon juice and the sugar to it
  7. Melt the butter and add the apples,cook till the sugar dissolves.
  8. Add the cinnamon.Cook for 5 to 7 mins when u feel the apples have soften a bit
  9. Strain the apples and extract the juice
  10. Take the juice and cook again till it caramalises
  11. Add the juice back to the apples
  12. Remove the dough and divide the dough into two
  13. Spread 1 layer at the bottom of your baking dish
  14. Pour in the filling
  15. For the top layer I have simply make strips and placed them like a lattice
  16. Apply the egg wash and sprinkle the sugar
  17. Refrigerate the pie for 15 mins before baking
  18. Preheat the oven to 180 D Celsius
  19. Bake the pie for 50 to 55 mins till you see the tops getting golden
  20. Serve as it is or with a dollop of cream or icecream
