ABOUT Watermelon rind Halwa RECIPE

Special tasty halwa for using rind. Whenever we waste of this rind but now it is very yammy and useful of our health.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 cup watermelon rind, white flesh grated
  2. 3/4 cup milk
  3. 1/4 cup condensed milk
  4. 1 tbsp Milk powder
  5. 4 to 5 pistachios
  6. 2 tbsp Ghee/ clarified butter
  7. Dry fruits as your wish for garnish

Instructions

  1. Start with cutting watermelon & scooping out red flesh which is used for eating. Peel off the white Rind form the green coloured Rind and place it separately in a bowl then grate this white rind finely.
  2. Squeeze out the excess water from grated Rind atleast twice or thrice
  3. Chop the dry fruits finely and peel green cardamom to make powder. Next heat the ghee in a pan. Add grated watermelon rind into it.
  4. Close the lid and simmer for 5 mins. While Stir occasionally to check the Rind after 5 mins.
  5. Again saute it on high flame for few minutes. Keep cooking till it turns golden brown colour.
  6. When the moisture from rind mixture gets completely evaporated. Then add milk to it. Mix well
  7. Next add condensed milk and cook for few mins.then add milk powder mix well. Keep cooking till it turns thick.
  8. Add roasted cashews and cardamom powder to it. Stir to mix everything well on low flame.
  9. Now Rind halwa is ready to serve with adding nuts.
