Balinese Black Rice Pudding

Ingredients to make Balinese Black Rice Pudding

  • Black rice – ½ cup
  • coconut milk – 1 cup
  • water – 1 ½ cups
  • Palm sugar – 2 tblsp
  • Pandan Leaves - 1
  • salt – a pinch
  • banana – 1

How to make Balinese Black Rice Pudding

  1. Wash and Soak the black rice for 6 hours.
  2. Cook it with coconut milk, water, pandan leaves and a pinch of salt in high flame and once it starts to boil bring it to low flame.
  3. Keep cooking until almost the entire liquid is absorbed by the rice and the rice gets cooked well. Its fine to leave a little bit of liquid as the pudding will continue to thicken once it starts to cool.
  4. Slice the banana’s and keep ready before serving.
  5. Just before serving drizzle with coconut milk and add the sliced banana’s.
  6. You may serve this hot or cold.

My Tip:

Pandan leaves is optional , if you do not get it or do not like the flavor of it you may ignore.
