ABOUT Sojni Ki Phalli Aur Choti Methi Khatti Daal..(Drumsticks and Fenugreek Daal) RECIPE

A fusion comfort food by me that is simple yet heavenly with a bowl of white boiled rice and pickle. Aromatic with drumsticks and small Fenugreek leaves, this daal will be loved by all. Serve it with any dry chicken dish or a vegetable of your choice, it tastes awesome. This particular daal also has the goodness of lemon to add tanginess to it. Lovely colour and aroma will surely tickle your tastebuds for sure. Happy Cooking Everyone!

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Drumsticks 2 cups
  2. Small Fenugreek leaves 2-3 bunches
  3. Salt to taste
  4. Tomatoes chopped 4-5
  5. Pigeon Pea Lentils 1 1/2 cups
  6. Turmeric 1 tsp
  7. RED CHILLI POWDER 1 TBSP
  8. Ginger garlic paste 1 tbsp
  9. FOR TEMPERING : Oil 3 tbsp
  10. cumin seeds 1 tbsp
  11. Dry red chillies 4
  12. Asafoetida 1/4 Tsp
  13. curry leaves 1/4 cup

Instructions

  1. Pressure cook lentils with tomatoes, red chilli powder and turmeric.
  2. After the pressure settles down, open the lid and add drumsticks and Fenugreek leaves to it.
  3. Also don't forget to add the curry leaves.
  4. Simmer on a low to medium high heat until done.
  5. Adjust salt and add the hot tempering to it.
  6. Serve hot with plain boiled rice and ghee.
