ABOUT Arabian Cake RECIPE

A lovely eggless cake with the goodness of almonds and honey.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. 6 tbsp sugar
  2. Oil 2 tbsp
  3. Butter 2 tbsp, melted
  4. All purpose flour 16 tbsp
  5. 1 tbsp cornflour
  6. 6 tbsp Milk
  7. 4 tbsp yogurt
  8. 1 tsp level baking pwd
  9. 1/4 tsp Baking Soda
  10. 1/4 tsp saffron
  11. 1 tsp cardamom pwd
  12. A pinch of salt
  13. Handful of almonds chopped and lightly roasted for the topping
  14. 1 tbsp sesame seeds for the topping

Instructions

  1. Sift the flour, cornflour, baking powder and baking soda together.
  2. Mix in all the wet ingredients in a large bowl. Mix in the sugar.
  3. Mix the dry and wet ingredients together and whisk for just 10-15 seconds.
  4. Pour in a greased baking tin lined with parchment paper.
  5. Top with sesame and almonds.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degree centigrade for 35 minutes.
  7. Mix 2 tbsp honey with 1 tbsp melted butter, pour over the cake and bake again for 5 minutes.
