Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. 3 liter milk
  2. 2 tbsp cornflour
  3. 1 1/2 cup sugar
  4. 3 tbsp vinegar
  5. Crushed elaichi 2 pods
  6. 3 tbsp ghee

Instructions

  1. Take 1.1/2 litres of milk and bring it to boil. When it starts boiling add vinegar to separate cheese from water. Drain the water and keep the paneer aside. Now take 1 1/2 litres of milk boil the milk and reduce it upto 75%.
  2. Now crumble the paneer and add it to the thickened milk. Cook it on a low flame. Add sugar and cook it for 2 to 3 minutes. Mix cornflour with water and slowly add into the mixture.
  3. Add crushed elaichi and two tbs ghee. The kalakand mixture will start thickening as it simmers and begins to cook. Grease the tray with 1 tsp ghee and place the mixture in the greased tray.
  4. Level the kalakand mixture with spatula. Cut the kalakand with a knife and place it in the refrigerator. Let it cool for 30 minutes. Garnish with dry fruits or silver foil.
