This unique and innovative dish was first time prepared for my kid and its came out very scrumptious. The best part of this recipe is that its made of rice flour and most appealing idea for me is the stuffed pasta rice ball accompanied with soy sauce. It is really a great combination because the taste and texture is so rich in every bite.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1 cup Rice flour
  2. 1.5 cup water
  3. 1/2 pkt twisted pasta
  4. 1 chopped onion
  5. 1 chopped carrot
  6. 1 green chilly
  7. 2 tbs spring onion
  8. 1 tbs Coriander leaves
  9. 2 tbs of soy sauce
  10. 2 tbs of tomato sauce
  11. 1 tbs of white vinegar
  12. Salt to taste
  13. 2 tbs Refined oil


  1. For Rice balls: Firstly preheat a pan with 1.5 cup water and give it a boil. Keep the flame in simmer.
  2. When its done spread the rice flour and cover it. Turn off the flame after 5 minutes and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  3. Now open the lid and with the help of laddle mix the dough. Transfer the dough in another plate and try to knead it.
  4. Wear gloves and do it carefully as its very hot. Combine and knead to make a smooth dough. Cover it and keep it aside.
  5. For stuffing: Preheat a non stick pan and add oil. Next in pan add chopped onion, green chilies, carrot and saute for few seconds.
  6. Mean while boil the twisted pasta and sieve it and keep aside.
  7. Now add spring onion, vinegar, salt, soy sauce, tomato sauce and saute only in high flame.Now add boiled pasta , coriander and saute. When its done turn off the flame and keep aside.
  8. For making Rice balls : Divide the dough into balls. Take a ball and start rolling using fingers ,make cavity to fill stuffing.
  9. Now fill the stuffing and seal the corners and try to give a shape of balls.
  10. Make a smooth surface and using knife give a design. Now repeat the process and make other rice balls.
  11. For steaming balls : Add 4 cups of water in steamer and let it boil for 10 minutes.
  12. Now place over the steamer and steam the rice balls for 20 minutes.
  13. Now grease the plate and place the rice balls. After its done let it cool for few minutes.
  14. Prepare ginger flavoured soy sauce by adding soy sauce(1/2 cup), vinegar(2 tbs), honey, grated ginger and chilies(optional)
  15. Serve the rice balls with prepared ginger soy sauce or any kids favorite sauce.
