Kids never eat beetroot so i made a little twist and gives healthy touch to idlis

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 1 cup semolina (suji)
  2. 1 cup curd
  3. 1/2 cup water
  4. 1 tspn baking soda
  5. 1 tspn oil
  6. 1 lemon juice
  7. 1 tspn salt
  8. 1 tspn sugar
  9. 1 pcs beetroot
  10. Soya leaves 1/4
  11. 1 tamato
  12. 1/2 cup grated coconut
  13. 1 inch ginger
  14. 2 tblspn chana dal
  15. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Soak semolina,curd and water in a bowl mix together lump free keep a side
  2. Now make thin slice from beetroot and boil it for 5 min
  3. Strain beetroot from water and let it cool for a while
  4. Cut flower shape from beetroot with sharp knife or with cutter
  5. Now take a batter add rest of ingredients and mix thoroughly without lump
  6. Now take idli cooker fill half with water and let it boil
  7. Now grease idli mould with little bit of oil
  8. Pour the idli batter in molud now place beetroot flower thin soya leaves and slice of tamato
  9. And steam it for 15 min in high flame
  10. Soak 2 tblspn of channa dal for 15 min in hot water
  11. Now take mixer jar add chana dal,grated coconut,ginger and salt with little water and churn into paste.chutney is ready now
  12. Serve colourful vege idli with chutney
  13. Chutney
