ABOUT Bhakarwadi RECIPE

This recipe is loved by my kids ,it has filling of dessicated coconut,sesame seeds. When made at home with love tastes awesome.yummy tea time snack.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. All purpose flour/maida -1 cup
  2. Gram flour/besan -1/2 cup
  3. Carrom seeds/ajwain-1/2 tsp
  4. Salt-1/2 tsp
  5. Clarrified butter /ghee -5 tsp
  6. Water to knead dough -1/2 cup
  7. For filling
  8. Dessicated coconut -5 tsp
  9. Sesame seeds- 2tsp
  10. Fennel /saunf-1 tsp
  11. Ginger powder-1/2 tsp
  12. Jeera powder-1 tsp
  13. Coriander powder-1 tsp
  14. Red chilli powder -1/2 tsp
  15. Amchur/dry mango powder -1/2 tsp
  16. Salt-1/2 tsp
  17. Sugar 1.5 tsp
  18. Oil-for frying

Instructions

  1. First seive both all purpose flour and gram flour.
  2. Next add carrom seeds and salt to it
  3. Then ghee ,mix them and check if flour holds the shape of hand,then add water to it in small amount and knead a tight dough .
  4. Keep dough at rest for 10 minutes.
  5. Next in a mixy jar grind all dry ingredients together to one pulse.
  6. Our filling is ready
  7. After 10 minutes divide dough in equal portion
  8. Roll down one portion to a round thin roti.
  9. Apply oil on it.
  10. Then place 2 spoon of filling ,press it...
  11. Roll it like this ,seal from sides
  12. With the help of knife ,cut it in equal parts
  13. Take one and press them with fingers.
  14. Then with hands press them
  15. Fry them in medium hot oil.
  16. Fry for 6-7 minutes at low medium flame till they turn golden brown in colour
  17. Take them out on tissue paper to drain excess oil
  18. Enjoy them with tea
