ABOUT Chicken Pot Pie RECIPE

This is one of the favourite comfort food thst we have in our family and my boy just loves it and the beautiful part of this recipe is that kid's does not complain about the vegetables that goes into it :blush:

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2 cups of all purpose flour
  2. 2 tbsp of butter
  3. A pinch of salt
  4. 2 cups of boiled shredded chicken
  5. 1 cubed carrot
  6. 1/2 cup green peas
  7. 2 tbsp flour
  8. 2 tbsp of butter
  9. 2 cups of chicken broth
  10. 1 cup of fresh cream
  11. 1 tsp of thyme
  12. 2 tsp of parsley
  13. 1 tsp of black pepper powder
  14. salt as per taste
  15. 1/2 cup of chopped onions
  16. 2 tsp of minced garlic
  17. 1 beaten egg for egg wash


  1. At first make the dough for the pie by mixing 2 tbsp of butter and a pinch of salt .
  2. Cover it with a wet cloth and keep it aside.
  3. Add butter in a pan , add the chopped onions and minced garlic
  4. Saute for 2 minutes, add the chopped vegetables.
  5. Saute for another 5 minutes .Add in the flour
  6. After 2 minutes add the chicken broth .
  7. Mix in all the flavours (thyme , parsley , salt , and pepper .
  8. When the mixture comes to boil mix in the shredded chicken.
  9. Put the flame on low heat.
  10. When the mixture comes to a thick consistency add in the cream and switch off the flame
  11. Now roll out 1 big circle from the previously prepared dough.
  12. Press one circle on the base of a pie bowl
  13. Then pour the prepared mixture on top.
  14. Make thin strips from another dough circle
  15. Place it on top on a criss cross manner
  16. Brush some egg wash on top
  17. Bake it on pre heated oven 220 degree centigrade for 40 to 45 minutes
  18. Your pie is ready to eat
