ABOUT Kolambi Che Lonche/Prawn Pickle RECIPE

This recipe of Prawns Pickle is THE recipe I associate my grandmama with. We all would devour on it and it’d be over in a jiffy. She used to prepare the pickle masala from scratch but it’s a time-consuming process which is why I’ve formulated a recipe with Bedekar pickle masala, which my mom trusts and has been using for a really long time. This recipe is a flavour bomb and can be prepared in just about 3 steps.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 cup Prawns
  2. 3 tsp Bedekar readymade Pickle Masala Powder
  3. ½ tsp turmeric powder
  4. ½ tsp Red Chilly Powder
  5. ¼ tsp Fenugreek Seeds
  6. ¼ tsp Mustard Seeds
  7. Salt, to taste
  8. 3 tbsp Vegetable Oil
  9. Juice of 1 lemon

Instructions

  1. Clean, peel and de-vein the prawns. Marinate the prawns with Bedekar pickle masala powder, turmeric powder, red chilly powder and salt and keep it covered for 30 minutes.
  2. Head oil in a saucepan and when hot, add the fenugreek seeds and mustard seeds to it and let them splutter. Now add the prawns and let them cook for 5-7 minutes until tender.
  3. Turn off the flame and after letting it cool down a little, add lemon juice and consume right away or store it in a dry glass bottle.
