ABOUT PEANUT BUTTER SPIDER COOKIES RECIPE

These cookies show my weakness for one of my favorite flavor pairings— peanut butter and chocolate! They’re simple and delicious! The peanut butter takes the cookies to the next level. Just think of your child’s eyes lighting up as they open their lunch at school and discover one of these peanut butter spider cookies looking back at them! Whether you’re making these for a cute and creepy treat and need to serve a fun dessert to a crowd, this peanut butter spider cookies recipe will give you extra mom points, for sure!

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  2. 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  3. 1/2 Cup Butter
  4. 3/4 cup brown sugar
  5. 1/2 cup Sugar
  6. 1 egg
  7. 2 tbsp Milk
  8. 1 tsp vanilla
  9. 1 tsp baking soda
  10. 1/2 tsp Salt
  11. 1/2 cup granulated sugar for rolling the dough 2 galaxy chocolate bars
  12. Some candy eyes
  13. Maltesers chocolate balls

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the peanut butter, butter and brown sugar using a hand mixer (or a stand mixer), until soft and creamy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract and continue to mix until fully combined.
  4. In a separate large bowl, Seive the Flour, baking soda and salt for 2 times.
  5. Add the wet ingredients mixture into this dry ingredients large bowl slowly, continuously mixing using your mixer and make a soft dough. Roll the dough into 1 to 2-inch balls.
  6. Coat evenly the balls with the granulated white sugar and place 2 inches apart on an un-greased, parchment-lined baking sheet.
  7. Gently give a small press on each balls with your four fingers (do not make it flat). Bake for 10-12 minutes or as soon as tops begin to slightly cracks. To keep them soft and chewy, be careful to not overbake. Let it cool.
  8. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler or Microwave for 20 to 30 seconds, knead it well and then when it cools down put it a tiny piping bag.
  9. Cut the Maltesers into half and place each half on top of each cookies gluing with the melted chocolate. Squeeze out the chocolate from the piping bag to draw the legs of the spider. Stick the candy eye on each
  10. Place it in refrigerator for 15 - 20 minutes to allow legs to set.
