Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. All purpose flour 2 and 1/2 cups
  2. Corn flour 1 and 1/2 teaspoon
  3. Baking powder 1/2 teaspoon
  4. Butter 2/3 cup
  5. Powdered Sugar 2/3 cup
  6. Egg 1
  7. Vanilla essence 1 teaspoon
  8. Orange hard candy 10 pieces
  9. Black currant hard candy 10 pieces

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl combine the soft butter and powdered sugar. Mix it using a whisk and beat until it's light and creamy.
  2. To this add vanilla essence and egg. Mix it well.
  3. In another bowl take the flour, corn flour and baking powder. Mix it properly.
  4. Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and mix it all really well using a spatula. Do not over mix. Mix until it all comes together to form a dough.
  5. Wrap the dough with plastic wrap and let it sit in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle some dry flour on a clean, flat surface and roll out the dough.
  7. Cut the cookies using a heart shaped cookie cutter. Cut out the center using a smaller heart shaped cookie cutter.
  8. Brush the baking dish with soyabean oil and line it with baking paper.
  9. Place the cookies on the paper.
  10. Grind the orange and black currant candies separately.
  11. Fill the cavities of the cookies with the ground candies.
  12. Bake these cookies in a preheated oven on 180°c for 10 minutes.
  13. Let the cookies cool on a cooling rack and store them in an airtight container.
