Crispy beetroot pattice are sandwiched in home made burger buns,topped with veggies,spiced with chutneys and mayonese ...served with potato chips and kids favourite drink.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. For pattice
  2. 2 cups boiled potatoes
  3. 1 cup grated beetroot
  4. 1 onion finely chopped
  5. 1 cup bread crumbs
  6. 1 tsp gingergarlic paste
  7. 1 tsp chat masala
  8. 1/2 tsp rock salt
  9. 1/2 tsp common salt
  10. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  11. 1 tsp coriander cumin powder
  12. 1 cup cornflour slurry
  13. 1 cup breadcrumbs to coat
  14. Oil for frying
  15. For burger bun
  16. For proofing
  17. 1 tsp dry yeast
  18. 1 tsp sugar
  19. 1/2 cup warm milk
  20. For dough
  21. 1 cup all purpose flour
  22. Pinch of salt
  23. Proofed yeast
  24. 1 tbsp butter/oil
  25. Water to knead the dough
  26. 2 cloves For decorating
  27. 2 choco chips for decorating eyes
  28. 2 tbsp mayo sauce
  29. 2 tbsp tomato sauce
  30. 6-7 tomato slices
  31. 6-7 onion slices
  32. 7-8 long strips of carrot
  33. 3-4 Few lettuce
  34. 2 tsp Green chutney
  35. 1 tsp chat maslaa
  36. 2 tsp tomato sauce
  37. 2 tsp mayonese
  38. For serving
  39. Few potato chips
  40. Tomato sauce

Instructions

  1. For making pattice/tikkis...take a mixing bowl..add boiled potatoes,grated beetroot,finely chopped onion,chat masala,rock salt,common salt,coriander cumin powder,bread crumbs and assemble.
  2. Form a dough...keep it in refrigerator for 15 min..
  3. Shape the round/heart shaped tikkis ..dip them in cornflour slurry..roll between bread crumbs.
  4. Pan fry on both sides till they are golden red in colour
  5. Now let's start with burger buns .firstly mix yeast,sugar and warm milk. Cover and allow it to proof for 10 min
  6. Take a mixing bowl .add all purpose flour,salt and mix well
  7. Add butter/oil .crumble the mixture .add yeast mixture and mix well.
  8. Add little water and form a sticky dough .
  9. Add little butter/oil and knead for 5-8 minutes on platform
  10. Wrap the dough and let it rest for 1 hr or until it is double in size
  11. After 1 hr,you will the dough has doubled..punch it to remove the air for 5 min on a platform
  12. Now make round equal balls of the dough ..since I have taken only 1 cup of flour,it will yield only two buns.
  13. Make two very smaller balls and place it on the bigger round ball forming eye of the bun.
  14. Mark the mouth of the bun and punch with cloves
  15. Arrange the buns on greased baking tin placing it at distance..and rest it for second time to rise for 15 minutes
  16. Preheat the oven for 10 min
  17. Now bake the buns in preheated oven at 180 for 15-20 min till the buns are golden on the top
  18. Allow them to cool on wired rack for some time.
  19. Now let's assemble burger..
  20. Slice the burger horizontally joined at one end and pan fry it little
  21. Apply butter in it. Spread green chutney,tomato chutney in the slices.
  22. Arrange lettuce leaves on the slice. Place a beetroot tikki on it.
  23. Arrange tomato onion slices and long strips of carrot on the top of tikki..
  24. Sprinkle chat masala and spread mayonese on it.
  25. Cover the top slice ..
  26. Melt small cubes of chocolate little and apply on the eyes of the burger making it attractive for kids..
  27. Arrange the plate with burger in center,potato chips in the sides and coriander leaves on the top forming a animal face...
  28. Serve with tomato sauce and favorite juice.
