ABOUT Raut RECIPE

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Butter 4 ounces
  2. Caster sugar 4 ounces
  3. Granulated sugar 4 ounces
  4. Milk 3 tbsp
  5. Powder milk 2 tbsp
  6. Flour 4 ounces
  7. Sooji 4 ounces
  8. Baking Powder 1 tsp
  9. Egg for brushing
  10. Poppy seeds and Annie seeds for sprinkling
  11. Chopped almonds and Pistachios for garnishing

Instructions

  1. Beat the butter and both the sugars till they are light and fluffy for 5 mins.
  2. Add the fresh milk and powder milk, continue to beat and fold in the maida and baking powder.
  3. Then add in the sooji, mix well and form into a dough. If it's soft, add a little flour and leave it in the fridge for 30 mins.
  4. Sprinkle flour on top and roll the dough to half inch thickness.
  5. Cut it with a medium sized cutter, put it on a tray and brush on top with an egg and milk mixture. Then sprinkle poppy seeds and saunf on top.
  6. Bake for 20 mins at 180 degrees celsius.
