ABOUT Nargisi Kofta RECIPE

It is a great party recipe and can be served with any sauce or green chutney. It almost resembles scotch eggs, but with a difference in the use of spices.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2 cups mutton mince, washed & drained
  2. 1 tsp. ginger-garlic paste
  3. 2 tbsp. fried onion
  4. 1 green chili, finely chopped (opt)
  5. handful of coriander-mint leaves, chopped
  6. 2 tbsp. oats powder
  7. 2 tbsp. roasted chickpea flour
  8. 1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
  9. salt to taste
  10. 1 tsp. coriander-cumin powder
  11. 1/2 tsp. garam masala powder
  12. pinch of pepper powder
  13. 1/2 of a beaten egg
  14. 1 tbsp. ghee
  15. 2 boiled eggs, peeled
  16. remaining beaten egg
  17. oil to deep fry


  1. In a bowl, mix all the above mentioned ingredients starting from chicken keema to ghee. Blend in the food processor till well combined.
  2. Transfer to a plate and divide into three portions. Take each portion and give a flat round shape. Place one egg in the centre and bring the edges together to cover it completely.
  3. Similarly make the remaining koftas and keep aside. Dip each of them in the remaining beaten egg and deep fry them to a golden colour.
  4. Drain on a kitchen towel and serve them hot as an appetizer with sauce / green chutney.
