These carrot cheese stuffed pockets are simple to make yet delicious. They are crispy outside and soft ,chewy inside. kids will love these healthy pockets.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Wheat flour 1 cup
  2. Salt as required
  3. Oil - 1 teaspoon + for deep frying
  4. For filling :
  5. Oil 1 Tablespoon
  6. Jeera 1/2 teaspoon
  7. Grated carrots 1 cup
  8. Grated cheese 1/2 cup
  9. Salt to taste
  10. Coriander leaves handful
  11. Red Chilli Powder 1/2 teaspoon
  12. Garam masala -1/2 teaspoon
  13. Pepper powder 1/2 teaspoon
  14. Dry mango powder 1/2 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. In a bowl add wheat flour, salt and a teaspoon of oil and mix well. Add required water and make a stiff dough. Cover and rest it for about fifteen minutes
  2. Meanwhile in a kadai heat a tablespoon of oil and add jeera. Allow it to splutter. Add grated carrots ,required salt and saute for two minutes.
  3. Add in all the spice powders and saute for another two minutes. Finally add grated cheese and switch off the flame.
  4. Garnish with coriander leaves and allow it to cool. The filling is ready.
  5. Divide the dough into small lemon sized balls. Roll each ball into thin discs using rolling pin and cut the edges to form a rectangle shape with the help of a sharp knife
  6. Again cut them into two equal rectangles.
  7. Now place a teaspoon of stuffing in one end of each strip and fold it. Press the edges firmly and seal them with the help of a fork.
  8. Repeat the same process for all the pockets
  9. Heat oil in kadai and deep fry the pockets in medium flame until crisp and golden on both sides
  10. Carrot cheese stuffed poori pockets are ready to serve with tomato sauce.
