Khoya Parcels

Ingredients to make Khoya Parcels

  • Refined flour (maida) 100 gm
  • ghee 2 Tbsp
  • sugar 1/3 cup
  • rose petals 2 tbsp
  • Khoya grated 4 tbsp
  • almonds finely chopped 6 nos
  • Dark cooking chocolate 4 tsp
  • Orange Zest 1 tsp
  • cloves 8

How to make Khoya Parcels

  1. Combine the maida/flour with ghee and mix with your fingertips till the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Add water and knead the dough. Then cover with a cling film and keep aside.
  2. Combine the sugar with 1/4 cup water and cook till it forms a two string consistency syrup. Add the shredded rose petals.
  3. Cook the khoya till the oil separates, then remove from flame and keep it aside to cool. Add almonds, chocolate and orange zest.
  4. Divide the dough into 4 portions. Roll out each portion with rolling pin into a small circles. Cut into a square and smear some ghee on it.
  5. Place the filling in the center of each square, bring together the opposite corners and make a parcel. Seal this parcel with cloves. Repeat the procedure for the remaining portions of the dough and make the parcels.
  6. Heat ghee in a pan and fry these parcels till they are golden brown in color and crisp. Then remove and drain on an absorbent paper, now dip it in the prepared rose syrup.
  7. Place them on a serving plate.
