Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. For Shortcake
  2. 1 cup all purpose flour
  3. 1/4 teaspoon salt
  4. 1/2 cup sugar
  5. 3 tbsp Milk
  6. 2 eggs at room temperature
  7. 105g soft unsalted butter
  8. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  9. 20-30 strawberries or as required
  10. White/Dark chocolate to drizzle


  1. Preheat oven to 180 and line loaf tin
  2. I have made vanilla pound cake without using baking powder, you can make this with shortcake cookies or lemon/ strawberry flavoured shortcake too
  3. In a bowl, mix flour and salt. Keep it aside
  4. In a bowl, blend sugar and butter for 5-6 minutes. This is most important step to get shortcake right
  5. Add in eggs one at a time, blend for 40 seconds before adding the next one
  6. Add milk, vanilla extract and blend well
  7. Gradually add dry ingredients and mix until well combined
  8. Pour the prepared batter into prepared loaf pan and level evenly
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes until done
  10. Allow to cool for 30 minutes. Demould and cool completely
  11. Cut the shortcake into cubes the way you cube paneer.
  12. Chop each strawberries into 2-3 slices
  13. On wooden skewers, place first strawberry slice followed by shortcake then strawberry so on
  14. Drizzle white or dark chocolate on top generously
  15. Serve these lovely delicious kebabs
