ABOUT Apple Pomegranate Tarts RECIPE

These sweet tarts can be served as a dessert, they can also be served at tea time or at kids parties.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Fresh pomegranate juice 1 cup
  2. Sugar 30 gms + 2 tbsp
  3. Brown sugar 3/4 cup
  4. Red apple diced 1
  5. Cinnamon powder 2 tsp
  6. All purpose flour (maida) 100 gms
  7. Butter 60 gms
  8. Little milk to knead the dough
  9. Whipped cream to decorate
  10. Pomegranate seeds to decorate

Instructions

  1. Heat a non-stick pan, pour in the fresh pomegranate juice and add 2 tbsp of sugar. Stir it continuously till it becomes thick. Then let it cool slightly.
  2. In a bowl mix the diced apple, cinnamon powder and brown sugar all together.
  3. For the dough, mix the all purpose flour, butter and 30 gms sugar together. Add little milk and knead the dough. Keep it aside for about 20 minutes.
  4. Now divide the dough into small portions, roll each portion into a round shape with the help of a rolling pin. Place a round shaped dough inside a tart mold. Press it slightly from all the the sides. Remove the extra dough from the edges.
  5. First put 1 tsp of pomegranate mixture in the tart, then put apple mixture over it. Now take another round shaped dough and cover the tart with it.
  6. Press at the .edges to seal the tart. Remove the extra dough. Similarly make the other tarts as well.
  7. Arrange them on a baking tray and bake in a preheated oven for about 10 minutes at 170 degrees or till they are light brown in color.
  8. Let them cool at room temperature. Then decorate them with whipped cream and pomegranate.
