ABOUT Baked Chocolate Samosa RECIPE

This chocolate samosa is not totally healthy but it’s a bit healthier than the fried version as I have replaced normal chocolate with dark chocolate.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup- Dark chocolate, chopped into small pieces
  2. 1 and 1/2 cups- All purpose flour/Maida
  3. A pinch of salt (for the dough)
  4. Water to bind the dough
  5. 1 teaspoon sugar (for the dough)
  6. 2 tablespoons- olive oil/ refined oil
  7. 2 tablespoons- chopped almonds and pistachios
  8. 1 teaspoon- oil to brush the samosas
  9. Chocolate syrup (to drizzle on top of the samosas)
  10. Homemade Chocolate Syrup Ingredients:
  11. 1 cup water
  12. 1/3 cup sugar
  13. 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, preferably Dutch-process
  14. 1 teaspoon coffee
  15. 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder

Instructions

  1. Combine the flour, sugar and oil in a bowl together. Mix well and rub till it resembles a breadcrumb texture.
  2. Add sufficient water and knead into a semi-stiff dough. Refrigerate it for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile chop the chocolates or you can grate them as well. Combine the chocolate, pistachios and almonds in a bowl.
  4. Divide the dough into 6 equal portions and roll out into medium size rotis. Cut the rotis into halves. Apply water on one edge half and roll into a small cone.
  5. Place a spoonful of the chocolate mixture into the cone and seal to make a samosa. Similar prepare the remaining ones.
  6. Preheat the oven for 2-3 minutes at 180 degree C.
  7. Bake the samosas for 25-30 minutes at 180 degree C.
  8. Serve them warm.
  9. Homemade Chocolate Syrup Method:
  10. In a pan add water and sugar. Let it boil while whisking until the sugar is dissolved.
  11. Whisk in cocoa and coffee and simmer, continue to whisk until it is slightly thickened for about 2-3 minutes.
  12. Then remove from heat and add let it cool.
