ABOUT Dill leaves and Moong Dal Sabzi RECIPE

A tasty side dish for rotis which I used to relish since childhood. My mother learnt this recipe from her Gujrati friend. The best part about this recipe is that it can be used for any leafy vegetable such as methi/fenugreek leaves or palak/spinach.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Moong dal 1/2 cup
  2. Dill leaves, a bunch
  3. Tomato 1 tsp
  4. Haldi/Turmeric 1/2 tsp
  5. Green chillies 3-4
  6. Ginger 1/2 piece (optional)
  7. Salt to taste
  8. oil
  9. Jeera/Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  10. Garlic Cloves 5-6

Instructions

  1. Take a vessel and boil the moong dal, tomato, ginger pieces and green chilli.
  2. Take a pan. Heat oil and add a little jeera/cumin seeds. Once it splutters, add the crushed garlic and fry it for sometime.
  3. Then add the boiled contents, salt and mix it well.
  4. Lastly add the washed and chopped dill leaves and mix it well together.
  5. Serve it hot with rotis.
