Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. All purpose flour- 2 cups
  2. Lukewarm Milk- 1 cup
  3. Milk Powder- 2 tablespoons
  4. Unsalted Melted Butter- 1 tablespoon
  5. Salt- 1/2 teaspoon
  6. Sugar- 2 tablespoons
  7. Yeast- 1 teaspoon
  8. Cardamom Powder- a pinch
  9. Butter for brushing the proofed donuts
  10. Sprinklers for topping
  11. Fresh Cream- 100 ml
  12. Chopped Dark chocolate- 100 grams

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, add the flour, salt, sugar, yeast and milk powder along with cardamom powder and mix it well.
  2. Microwave the milk and butter together in a cup for 30 seconds. With the help of a spatula, mix all the ingredients until they are blended completely.
  3. This will be a sticky mixture, cover it with a damp cloth and place it in in a warm place for 1 hour or until it doubles in volume.
  4. While the dough is proofing, place the chopped chocolate and cream in a glass bowl. Microwave this for 20 seconds and give it a stir. Repeat this thrice or until the ganache is ready.
  5. Once the dough is proofed, punch it to let the air escape. Now take some flour and knead it to a smooth dough.
  6. Roll the dough 1 cm thick and cut the donuts. (Use the remaining dough for chocolate filled balls type donuts.)
  7. Place them on a lined tin for the second rise for 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven at 190 degrees celsius and brush the risen donuts with melted butter.
  9. Once the donuts are proofed, bake them at 190 degrees for 25 minutes or until they are light golden in colour.
  10. Dip the hot donuts in ganache and put sprinklers to decorate.
  11. Enjoy these baked donuts with your loved ones!
