Kasoori Methi Chicken

Ingredients to make Kasoori Methi Chicken

  • chicken 500gms
  • Kasoori methi 2tbsp
  • salt to taste
  • 2 finely chopped onion
  • 1tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 2 gr chillies cut in length wise
  • 2 tomato (puree)
  • 2tbsp curd
  • 1/2tsp turmeric powder
  • chilly powder 2tsp
  • Dhaniya powder 2tsp
  • jeera powder 1/2tsp
  • fennel powder 1/2tsp
  • Cum8n seed 1tsp
  • fennel seed 1/2tsp
  • Garam masala 1/2tsp
  • oil 3tbsp

How to make Kasoori Methi Chicken

  1. First marinate the chicken with curd, ginger garlic paste, salt n keep it for 30 mins in fridge.
  2. Take a heavy bottomed pan, heat some oil and splutter the cumin and fennel seeds. Add the chopped onions and saute till it turns golden brown.Add gr chillies. Add the chicken pieces. Stir fry for few minutes.
  3. Add all the dry spice powders (coriander, cumin, red chili, turmeric and fennel powders) Add the tomato puree and required water. If you want a dry dish add very little water. Cover and cook for about 15 minutes till the oil separates from the masala.  Finally add kasoori methi and garam masala powder.
  4. Cook for couple of minutes and switch off. Tasty methi chicken is ready to be served with roti or naan.

My Tip:

Always marinate the chicken for better taste
