Punjabi dum aloo

Ingredients to make Punjabi dum aloo

  • 15 baby potatoes
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tomato
  • 1/2 inch ginger
  • 5-6 cloves
  • 10 cashewnut
  • 1 elaichi
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 spoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 spoon red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp fennel
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp curd
  • Coraiander leaves for garnishing
  • 1/2 tsp coriander seeds

How to make Punjabi dum aloo

  1. Take a potato, wash it and boil it in salt water only 5 minutes,then peel it skin
  2. Make a hole with fork
  3. Then fry it in oil
  4. Take a pan ,add cumin seeds,black pepper,coriander seeds, dry red chilly, saunf and roasted it 2 minutes,then grind it in mixture.
  5. Take a pan ,add oil and fry onion,tomato ,cloves, ginger, and let it cool them and then grind it with cashew nut in mixer.
  6. In a pan, add 1 spoon oil,1/4 turmeric,powder,1/2 spoon red chilly powder and add potato mix well.

In a pan ,add oil,add asafotieda,bay leaf , add dry masala mixer ,add ginger-garlic,onion ,tomato paste.mix well ,and fry the paste till it becomes golden brown and the oil seprates.add all masala turmeric powder,red chilly powder,garam masala powder,and mix well. Then add curd and mix well .Add fried potatoes and simmer for some 4-5 minutes till the dum aloo gravy thickens.dum aloo is ready to serve.
