Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. onions medium 1
  2. basmati rice 3 cups - washed and soaked
  3. tomato medium 1
  4. kaju paste 2 tbsp
  5. mushrooms 1cup boiled in water, rinsed and diced
  6. red bellpepper 1/2 cup washed and diced
  7. yellow bell peppers 1/2 cup washed and diced
  8. broccoli 1/2 cup washed and diced
  9. salt to taste
  10. oil as required
  11. blackpepper 2 tsp


  1. wash and soak basmati rice in a bowl
  2. boil mushrooms with little salt, rinse and drain and cut them into small pieces
  3. grind tomato and onion into fine paste
  4. In a wok add little oil, once its hot add bellpeppers and brocoli
  5. add kaju paste and onion tomato paste
  6. let them cook with open lid till to allow raw smell to escape
  7. transfer rice to the vegetables mix
  8. add salt and blackpepper powder
  9. pour water (one inch deep) and cover with lid
  10. let it cook till done and serve hot with choice of raita
