Palak chana dal is a popular North indian dish. It is a healthy recipe made with spinach leaves and Bengal gram. Both r rich in iron and protein. Here I made it with a twist. Spinach dumplings in chana dal. It is very easy to make and yummy to taste.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Bangal gram 1 cup
  2. Spinach leaves 10-12
  3. Cottage cheese 1/2 cup grated
  4. Finally chopped onions 2
  5. Garlic cloves 7-8
  6. Ginger 1 inch piece
  7. Tomato puree 1/2 cup
  8. Cumin seeds 1 teaspoon
  9. Salt 1 spoon or according to taste
  10. Red chilly powder 2 teaspoon
  11. Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon
  12. Corriander powder 1 teaspoon
  13. Garam masala powder 1 teaspoon
  14. Oil one cup for tadka and shellow frying
  15. Finally chopped green chilly 2

Instructions

  1. wash and soak chana dal for 30 minute.
  2. heat oil in cooker
  3. Add cumin seeds and let them crackle.
  4. Add onions in it and saute them till they become transparent.
  5. Add ginger garlic paste and saute for a while
  6. Add tomatoes puree in it and Saute until oil separates.
  7. Add salt and dry spices in IT. mix properly.
  8. Add 3 Cup water and close the lid
  9. Cook it for four whistles . switch off the flame and let the pressure release.
  10. Take grated cheese in a bowl.
  11. Add half teaspoon Salt and half teaspoon Pepper, finely chopped onion and green chilli in IT mix properly.
  12. wash spinach leaves and place cheese stuffing on it.
  13. Fold it carefully and seal it with toothpick.
  14. boil water in a pan.
  15. Place the Spanish rolls on a strainer and put it on a pan.
  16. Steam it for 2 minutes.
  17. Now heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan.
  18. Shallow fried these dumplings in it till they become crispy.
  19. Put chana dal in serving bowl.
  20. Place this Spanish dumplings in it.
  21. Serve hot with Nan or chapati or rice.
