This is a north indian traditional recipe. and the taste is superb.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Suji 3/4 cup
  2. Wheat flour 1/4 cup
  3. sugar 3/4 cup
  4. water 2 cup
  5. Green cardamom 3 to 4
  6. ghee 3/4 cup
  7. almond 2 tbsp chopped
  8. raisins 2 tbsp
  9. cashews 2 tbsp chopped


  1. Pour sugar, green cardamom and water in a small saucepan and bring it to boil over medium flame,
  2. It will take around 3-4 minutes. Remove it from the flame and keep aside 
  3. Take sooji and wheat floor in a heavy based pan, add ghee and heat it over slow flame for 20 to 25 minutes. Stir continuously and mix using spatula.
  4. Mix it and remember it's colour do not change.
  5. Slowly add boiled water and mix by stirring constantly (add water only in small incremental quantities because it will splutter as soon as you add it).
  6. Stir and cook to avoid any lump formation.
  7. Increase flame to medium and cook until all water gets absorbed.
  8. Stir until it has a semi-solid consistency. Add and mix almonds and cashew nuts after reserving some of them for garnishing.
  9. The suji pudding is now ready for serving.
